50th Anniversary of the Women's Caucus
“I am proud to be in service with 61 phenomenal, talented, brilliant, women hailing from communities around the commonwealth. I am grateful for the trailblazers who cleared the path we walk on today, including my predecessor Harriette Chandler, and who passed on to us a legacy of bipartisan and bicameral collaboration to elevate the work we still do today. Together, while lifting the voices, opportunities, and diversity of our districts, we are moving legislation and investing in communities to improve the lives of and outcomes for women and families.

While our caucus has grown from 14 members at our founding to 62 today, the fact that only 243 women have served in the Legislature in our state’s history, and that Women of Color remain largely underrepresented, are stark reminders of the work we need to do. We honor the progress we have made—but we also remain committed to confront the truth that real parity is still ahead of us.”
